A Tense Frustration
I think that we have all had moments in our lives where we have felt like we hit a wall. Whether we are not getting what we want out of our personal lives or feeling stuck in our professional lives. I mean, we've all felt like that but the real question is, how are we supposed to move from that? It’s one of those feelings that creeps up when everything feels the same no matter how much effort you’re putting in. You start to wonder if maybe this is just how it’s going to be for a while stagnant, quiet, and a little too predictable.
But lately, I’ve been thinking about how that same feeling shows up in the sustainability space too. Sometimes it feels like no matter how much awareness there is, progress moves painfully slow. We talk about recycling, reducing waste, choosing better materials and yet, the world keeps producing more, consuming more, and caring less. It can feel like shouting into the void, wondering if any of these small actions actually make a difference.
Still, maybe hitting a wall isn’t always a bad thing. Maybe it’s a signal that something has to shift—whether it’s how we think, how we work, or how we approach the problems in front of us. For me, that means rethinking the way I consume fashion. Instead of seeing sustainability as a checklist, I’ve started to view it as a mindset something fluid that grows and changes just like we do. It’s about looking at what’s already in my closet and asking, how can I make this last longer? or how can I give it new life?
Because just like in life, progress in sustainability doesn’t come from giant leaps all the time. It comes from small, intentional steps. From being patient when things feel stuck. From understanding that even when it seems like nothing’s moving, the effort still matters. Sometimes the wall we hit isn’t there to stop us it’s there to make us find another way around.
